I was looking for something else in ND's athletics directory when I saw a group that I haven't seen before. It's called "4 For Forever - Name, Image, & Likeness." Maybe it has been there for a while, but I don't remember seeing it.

Pat Garrity is the person in charge, and three people report to him for this endeavor. Garrity's basketball GM duties remain intact.

One of the three people in Garrity's group is designated for Olympic sports. The other two are not designated for specific sports. It's possible that football NIL is part of this group, and it's also possible that football NIL is handled as part of the rather large contingent of staff members in the football organization.

I think having the group report to Garrity is a positive sign for basketball. Football is going to get the lion's share of ND's direct payment budget. The only way basketball will get significant NIL bucks is third party deals, so I'm glad there is someone responsible for managing the process.

Nobody on the current roster will be a candidate for major endorsements that pay big money. However, ND can start by aggressively pursuing local and regional opportunities. Crawl, walk, run.
