glad to get him out of the NL west
than Ian Stewart was with the Cubs. Theo and Jed (though I don't think Jed was there yet) have gotten a lot right, but boy did they whiff on that one.
Then I saw he was with Colorado, and it made sense.
I am not a Rockies fan, but this guy is a really good hitter. His stats aren't Coors inflated, IMO.
I find I’m suffering more and more from sports-related short-term memory loss. I can tell you that Rogers Hornsby won the 1924 NL batting crown with a .424 average, but I can’t tell you who won it just last year.
He’s not flashy but Javy by he has good range and and his throws are on target.
but I do know that DJ is a really good player and I believe that he'll shine in NYC.
I just don't get much into baseball these days; too wrapped up in my kid's stuff, I guess.
They meet tomorrow.
Heyman reported that no one has given Machado his $300MM+ offer yet that he and his agent have been seeking.
There are still some rumors wafting the Phillies might entertain signing both depending on how the market shapes out.
did they not learn from Howard(and yes, i know harper is younger)?
Howard was a much more flawed player than Harper. Once Howard had his power sapped, he was not very good.
Harper won't collapse as quickly as Howard did.
But let's also not lose sight of Harper's past few seasons.
If you get the 2015 Harper, yes.
But the 2016 and 2018 (and to some extent the 2017 Harper) aren't as dominant as that 2015 Harper.
I don't know the root cause, and not sure if anyone does, but his numbers would give me some pause.
