If the HOF had its 5 years retired rule at the time (not sure if they did), that would mean the two players last played in 1956. I'm going to keep rolling with Sandy Koufax as a guess because that's served me well recently. As for the other, Jackie Robinson is the only person that pops to mind who would fit within that window. Other stars I'm thinking of were either long retired or still playing (I think).
