He hit .188 in 2020 and there was no DH entering 2021

The .188 was in the 60-game season, but still. He also acculumated about 5 total WAR in the equivalent of 4 full seasons as a Cub. The DH coming back was not a sure thing, and the Cubs didn't want to ride Schwarber's clownery in LF for 1 or 2 or 3 years until DH maybe became a rule. Yeah, I know you know all of this. And yeah, however logical it was... it still hurts that he left for nothing. I get it. And the pain is compounded by the fact that moving to Joc Pederson to save $1MM vs Schwarber was a joke.

The DH role has unlocked Kyle at the plate, beyond what he ever could have done as a leftfielder. He has taken off now that he doesn't have to worry about carrying a glove, fully settled into and focused on his Schwarbomb identify as DH. Will love the guy forever and am very happy for him. Amazing he is the most productive 2016 Cub remaining.

Remember when the chatter was about whether or not we'd be able to fit him into the lineup at catcher?
