Question for kk or anyone else knowledge about long jump by DBCooper

To my unknowledgeable eye it appears US long jump champ Brittany Reese doesn’t run full speed before her jump, while most of the other competitors do. Is there a reason for that? I mean she has won silver now twice and gold once, so clearly it works for her, but I found her approach before the jump a bit strange. Is her technique rare or more common than it appears or am I seeing something that’s not really there? Thanks

Can I also complain that the winner is decided by who gets the best jump over 6 attempts? Seems like it should at least be the average of 2 top jumps. I believe the woman who came in 5th fouled every time but once. Seems a little unfair, but I’m sure there are obvious reasons.
