If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.

I think it is actually fairly justifiable. A play earlier in the game can obviously shift the outcome, the issue is that if that play was changed then each subsequent play of the game likely would have been different, so it is more difficult to say how definitively said play affected the outcome. For a play at the end of the game, most of the game is in the past and cannot be altered. So, Cody Parkey shoulders the blame because a reversal of his outcome definitively changes the game in his team's favor. Less so for a play earlier on.

In Alshon Jeffrey's case, if he makes the catch than his team obviously still has a good chance to win the game. (Mind you, they still had to score, it's not like his drop was in the end zone.) Still, it is much easier to point to that play and play the "what if" game than something earlier on.

To connect it to ND, there are those that played the "what if" game about the fumble reversal on the Clemson kickoff return. The issue with that is that there was a lot of time left in the game for Clemson to render that meaningless.
