I believe that was the game Holtz basically drew up the by JACC1203

final offensive play in the dirt.

I recall seeing Rocket Ismail give an interview in which he described how well Lou Holtz knew football. According to Ismail, Holtz gathered his offense around him close to end of the game & drew up the final play right on the field telling everyone where to be & guaranteed Derek Brown would be open for a TD catch to win the game.

He was right about the play except for the one part he couldn't control.
