They've whiffed more often than not by irish2003

Going back for the last 30 years...

 Barry Sanders: duh (1/1)
Andre Ware: Anthony Thompson, Major Harris, and our own Tony Rice were all more deserving than this gimmick QB fraud (1/2)
Ty Detmer: unforgivable; Rocket was unquestionably the most outstanding player that year (1/3)
Desmond Howard: sadly, the poor man's Rocket got the award (1/4_
Gino Torretta: Inexplicable, Marshall Faulk was clearly a better player (1/5
Charlie Ward - solid choice (2/6)
Raashaan Saalam - I would have voted for Steve McNair, but overall this was a really weak year (2/7)
Eddie George - Tommy Frazer should have won (2/8)
Dan Wuerfell - ok, but another weak year (3/9)
Charles Woodson - Manning should have won (3/10)
 Ricky Williams: solid choice (4/11)
Ron Dayne - Mike Vick should have won in a landslide (4/12)
Chris Weinke: Drew Brees should have won in a landslide (4/13)
Eric Crouch - another medicore year (4/14)
 Carson Palmer- ok choice (5/15)
Jason White: awful choice, Larry FitzGerald should have ran away with it, with Eli as a very solid #2 (5/16)
Matt Leinart - awful choice; Adrian Peterson and Reggie Bush were both far better (5/17)
 (Vince Young) (5/18)
Troy Smith: Professionals should be automatically ineligble, and Darren McFadden, Quinn, and Steven Slaton were all more deserving (5/19)
Tebow - solid choice and nice to see it not go to a guy on a crap team (albeit sandwiched between 2 NC's for UF), but McFadden had a case too (6/20)
Sam Bradford - I'd have voted for Colt McCoy, but can live with Bradford. (7/21)
Mark Ingram, another joke; Suh should have won, with McCoy & Gearhart as solid backups. (7/22)
Scam Newton - Andrew Luck should have been a no-brainer, especially vs. a professional player (7/23)
 RG3; good vote (8/24)
John Manziel: Awful choice; Te'o was clearly more understanding, and I'd vote Klein, Marriota, and Lee over Manziel even if I couldn't vote for Manti. (8/25)
 Jameis Winston, ugh (9/26)
 Marcus Mariotta (10/27)
Derrick Henry - see Ingram above, McCaffrey & Watson were far better (10/28)
LaMar Jackson; eh, should have been Watson (10/29)
 Mayfield (11/30)
 Murray (12/31)
