Breaking up the Athletic Dept. by TWO

I believe a poster once suggested that we need to have an AD who is in charge of everything related to Football and reports to the BOT/President and a 2nd but equal AD who runs the rest of the intercollegiate sports and also reports to the BOT/President.

Has that time come. I keep seeing that football offices now have "directors of player personnel", that they have all sorts of other personnel that didn't exist 20 or 30 years ago. The whole operation is bigger than ever. Can one guy focus on football when he also has to take care of volleyball, lacrosse, cross country, etc. Granted there are Asst AD's and I'm sure they are working in the background and keeping the AD up on the details.

But still with all the things going on in the Athletic Dept. Is it time to consider a Football AD, focus solely on Football not worry about Volleyball, etc. Might not just be better for football but for all the minor sports as well. They might get more attention and focuse.

Just a thought. Doubtful many schools would do it, but certainly those schools with big time football and a significant number of minor sports might benefit.
