This is not a vent board or any other kind of therapy. Before you hit the POST button, ask yourself if your contribution will add to the level of discussion going on.
Important notes on articles:
Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Not every article needs to be discussed. The more the hair-pulling articles are discussed (e.g. ESPN Page 2), the more the authors will write hair-pulling articles.

Spoiler: The Big 12 isn't getting any of those teams by gregmorrissey
If they can get out the ACC deal then they are going to either the Big Ten or the SEC. If Notre Dame decided to pursue independence then I'd have to think we'd go to the Big East over the Big 12.
The much bigger story in that article is this:
Even crazier, according to recent reports, the Irish may not even host a game since it is “too cold” in December.
As it happens, "recent reports" are the author's own article: College Football Playoff Director Muddies Up Selection Process Ahead of 12-Team Playoff With Shocking Comments. And, to add insult to injury, the author is full of shit. Below is the excerpt from the article. Below the excerpt is the video of Rich Clark addressing the question at the Big 12 media day. It's pretty clear that Rich Clark is not saying that seeding will be manipulated. He is answering the question about how the CFP Playoff Organization is working with teams to make sure they are ready to successfully host a playoff game. At no point does he suggest, at least in my interpretation, that a team will not be allowed to host because of weather or other reasons. They simply want to start planning now so they aren't starting from scratch on December 8th.
Excerpt:
Rich Clark kicked off the second day of the Big 12 Media Days and talked at length about the College Football Playoff. When asked how the at-large spots will be selected, Clark gave an interesting answer:
“There’s a lot of factors that are going to go into this. Weather is going to be a factor… because this game later in the year in the winter than they normally would. Hotels are a factor. Do they have the level of hotels that would be expected for a Playoff game and the availibility when we need it….Everything from ticket sales to managing how we distriubute the tickets… It’s not a game they have been planning on for 6-8 months.”
