Bri Starts for Mercury; Marina Reaches Double Figures.. by dillon77

Brianna Turner played 31:55 for the Phoenix Mercury in their 103-82 win over the Washington Mystics. She scored 12 points and had 6 rebounds, playing up front next to Brittany Griner, who scored a season-high 29 points, had 9 rebounds and 8 assists. This is quite the turnaround for Bri, who a few weeks ago was languishing on the bench, giving Griner a spell for a minute or two, at best. She had a good outing (10+ minutes) and had gotten steady PT since then, but this could almost be a breakout game. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, the LA Sparks beat the Seattle Storm, 83-75. Marina Mabrey got her most minutes, 15+, in a few games and made the most of it, scoring 10 points, with two three pointers. Jewell Loyd only scored 4 points for the Storm, just shooting 1-6. . She's had a tough return since turning her ankle before the All-Star break.
