...I think our chances are solid. UConn, ND and Maryland seem to be spending the most energy in pursuit of the Fudds on a consistent basis over the years (Maryland being the "home team," if you will).

There are posters on every collegiate board that swear the Fudds (Azzi and her dad, Tim) have reached a "silent commitment" with this school or that, but I'll only believe what I see when she makes an announcement.

Favorites seem to ebb and flow. When Sam Brunelle committed to ND, there was talk of a trail of Sam friends and/or peers (Aliyah Boston, Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, etc.) following, but Boston is at South Carolina, Haley Jones at Stanford and Bueckers committed to UConn, so kids will do what's right for them.

Still, UConn followers currently think Bueckers and Fudd are really tight and that will put the Huskies over the top with thread. One could buy the argument that he makes even a great player better, since Paige committed.

On the other hand, hard to argue with the success that MM has had developing ND guards for the pros: Skylar, K-Mac (Buckets), Jewel, Arike, Jackie, Marina (who will get better when she goes overseas)in the WNBA and Natalie Novosel and Lindsay in Australia.

Ultimately, I think the Fudds will bring their own set of criteria to this decision. Candidly, I'd feel better if ND can bring home some combination of Clark, Westbeld and Kelly in the 2020 class to play with Sam and Anaya and possibly Fudd.
