Man City’s dominance, in perspective by HTownND

Over the last 10 matches (which represents over 25% of the season) Chelsea has gone 7-1-2 for a total of 23 out of 30 possible points.

That is 77% of the possible points. A pace that would, over the course of a season result in 87 points.

Here is where 87 points would have put teams the past 5 years:
16/17 - 2nd
15/16 - 1st
14/15 - 1st
13/14 - 1st
12/13 - 2nd

So basically Chelsea has been at top of the table form for 25% of the season.

Over that period, Man City has gained 5 more points than Chelsea basically putting the league out of reach. Their point pace has been blistering.

This year, after 21 matches, over half the season, Man City has 59 out of a possible 63 points. A pace of 107 points on the season.

This is the most dominant season I’ve seen since I started following the EPL during the 99/2000 season. Chelsea’s 95 points don’t look to hold up this year, and I suspect it won’t be close.
