Maybe it's because I don't follow MLS or the Fire very close by miamioh_irishfan

at all, but I haven't noticed any of the great changes they made this winter, and I have one big complaint:

They don't engage with their fans in a personal way at all. I've played at the Fire Pitch on the NW side since it opened (it's the largest MLS affiliated rec league in the country, by a lot), and in rec leagues in the city for much longer than that. The team never has a presence with that subset of the potential fanbase, ever. They gave away (for free) tickets for the home opener to rec league members, so that's a significant part of the 30k total they're expecting. It's clearly a segment of the public that loves soccer, many have young kids who could be future fans. Why doesn't the team train there, open to the rec league members, once a month or something? Have the players come and watch the leagues once in a while. Have the players show up and ref for an hour or so. There's just so much they DONT do, that it overshadows whatever good they might have done this offseason and since the sale of the team. Hopefully it'll change, but I'm not counting on it.
