Important notes on articles:

• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
• If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Joe Piane/ND Invitational Held Today (Oct. 1) by dillon77

First real test for the entire squads. Guys are very highly rated this year. Will be interesting to see if Yared Nuguse races today.

"The Joe Piane – Notre Dame Invitational will return on Friday, Oct. 1 after not being contested last season. This year’s Invitational is set to be one of the top national meets throughout the regular season. 56 institutions from across the country will converge on campus, with 40 of those teams being featured in this week’s USTFCCCA National Rankings.

"The Irish enter the competition currently ranked No. 2 on the men’s side and #19 on the women’s side. Both squads will look to gain valuable experience ahead of the post-season, while also providing some young runners the opportunity to toe the line against the nation’s best. Both squads will race in their respective Blue Race, while additional Irish athletes will also race in the Open Division Race."

11:15 a.m. – Men’s Blue Race
12:00 p.m. – Women’s Open Race
12:45 p.m. – Men’s Open Race
1:30 p.m. – Women’s Gold Race
2:15 p.m. – Men’s Gold Race
