“True justice is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring. ” - MLK

Favorite Quote from an ND Coach: (after a win over UCLA at the JACC in 1991)

"a miracle? don't get me wrong- I am very proud of our effort today, but what we did is no miracle. The men and women of this country that get up every morning and go to 2 and 3 jobs so that their children can have a better life- that- that is a miracle. give them the credit. this is just a game"
- John MacCleod

Miscellaneous Data: I'm a blues musician, a former minor league football player and and am a Sociology Professor at a small University in the Twin Cities. Though I've been to 5 universities in my life- I've been a hard core fan of Irish hoops for almost 30 years.

When I was young and couldn't yet drive or didn't have a car and could not get to the JACC or afford a ticket, Jack Lorri was my connection to ND basketball. I spent many winters in the 80s and 90s holed up in my room with my radio listening to my heroes. Even during the very lean years, he painted great pictures and kept me connected and for that, I am ever grateful. That's the reason for the moniker.
