Height:  5'9' Weight:  160 lbs. Alumni Status:  ND graduate
Location:  Santa Barbara CA Favorite Baseball Team:  Los Angeles Dodgers sometimes, but I grew up on the Boston Red Sox.
Natural Enemies:  Hint: If you don't swear while driving, you are not paying attention.

Athletic Ability: I was born a jock and have been a jock all my life, from playing baseball on the local playground when I was a kid to the Senior Olympics in softball, basketball and track. I played baseball on the base team while in the Marines. It is in the genes. My father was a member of an Irish track team (the country, not ND). At ND I was sports editor of the Scholastic in the Leahy era. All of my children were on athletic teams in high school and four were on college teams. Two of my grandchildren made the All American team in water polo for Div. III. Another plays hockey at Utah. A granddaughter is a sprinter at UC San Diego. And then there are the surfing brothers. The younger was the HS surf champ last year for the the Santa Barbara--Los Angeles region. He has dual citizenship with Ireland and was a member of the Irish team at the 2018 European Junior Championships.

Sartorial Style: I work at home so it is very casual. Usually polo shirts and khakis.

Favorite Beverage and Consumption Freq: I may be 100% Irish, since my mother was also Irish-born and I hold Irish citizenship, but I'm a lousy drinker at best. More than one drink and I fall asleep.

Political Philosophy: I am the emobodiment of the adage: if you are not a liberal at 20, you have no heart; if you are not a conservative at 40, you have no brain.

Religious Philosophy: Catholic. The Irish version. Where you hear uttered several times a day "Jesus, Mary and Joseph".

Musical Favorites: I still like the sixties through eighties stuff. Judy Collins, Fleetwood Mac, etc. I also listen to a lot of light classical on Amazon Prime as background music. Mary Black is my favorite Irish singer. Love her rendition of "Song for Ireland".

Favorite Quote from an ND Coach: Frank Leahy: "Prayers work best when the players are bigger, stronger and faster".

From a non-ND coach: "You came to the University of Miami to play football. If you wanted an education, you should have gone to Harvard". Jimmy Johnson

Miscellaneous Data: My granddaughter is class of 2014. She is the fifth in the family, first in the third generation and first family female to attend Notre Dame. She is married to an ND classmate.
