Favorite Baseball Team:
Natural Enemies:
Athletic Ability:
Played baseball into late 20's. Had only modest athletic ability, but could put the bat on the ball.
Sartorial Style:
As I split time between a small northern town, where a tie never is mandatory, and a much more formal southern city (winters) having fairly numerous black tie events, that I infrequently attend and only under threat of electric shock applications, my style is crapppy. Preferred: Jeans or shorts with T-shirt, ND cap, sneaks (mid 60's trailer park grunt).
Favorite Beverage and Consumption Freq:
Sour mash bourbon - 1/day.
Political Philosophy:
Conservative. I believe there is very little government does well. I know anarchy doesn't work, but that's a shame.
Religious Philosophy:
Traditional Roman Catholic.
Musical Favorites:
Classic rock and roll: The Who (The scream in "We Won't Be Fooled Again" is the high water mark of 20th Century music.), Stones, Queen, etc.
Favorite Quote from an ND Coach:
"The prayers work better when the tackles are big." Frank Leahy, when asked how ND ever could lose with all the nuns praying for them on Saturday. A dose of reality for the pius. How it must have pissed off the administration.
What else do you want us all to know:
My first memory of sports is the 1946 ND-Army game on the radio. My father was a truly insane subway alum. Other than my family, my major interest in life has been and is Irish football. (way ahead of job, religion, etc.). I am amazed at the misconceptions the younger posters have re football matters during the 50's and 60's, especially with respect to TMH. Ned Joyce kept possible all our hopes and dreams.
