Boil order protocol question.

As my domicile was just lifted from a boil water order (company laying fiber optic lines apparently didn’t have things flagged and hit a pipe on Wednesday one block over), it occurred to me I’ve never really paid attention as to what to do after one.

According to the Google machine, you’re supposed to let your faucets run for five minutes then your hot water for X min depending on the size of your tank.

Do you good people practice this?

I drank from multiple garden hoses as a kid and I’m still here.

Old Man THR would have just laughed at these suggestions…hope that’s not why he got cancer.
