For Yankee fans, John Sterling is retiring
by DBCooper (2024-04-15 17:09:12)

Put me down for someone who is happy to see him go. Definitely been around forever, but his shtick got old a long time ago.

36 years with Yankees.

It is high… it is far…. It is….. caught!

The Yankees haven't won a title since Bob Sheppard died.

This might be a way for reversing the trend - sacrificing Sterling on the retirement altar.

You would be surprised at how many of us in Middle America know about Sterling (or Michael Kay) because of national sports radio top-of-the-hour updates playing their home-run calls. I think Sterling got an extra lift when Judge arrived and he could riff off of Judge's last name but yes, the Granderson stuff was bad.

He was particularly brutal during the Granderson years.
