Tradition Needs Preservation

A recent news story on the CBS website talked about Steve Boda and his Notre Dame statistical collection. The long-time statistics maven had died this past November, and his extensive collection of Notre Dame data, which he’d hoped to donate to the school, was in limbo due to him contracting for its sale with a rare book dealer.

One of the guys over at Her Loyal Sons has started a project to try and claim the materials, digitize them, and donate them to Notre Dame. The effort is raising its funds via GoFundMe. Even though there’s a potential buyer right now, there are possible issues with the offer, so until it’s actually purchased, things remain up in the air and these guys want to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You can get more information about the campaign at this link.

This is crazy. I think we should set up a fund to buy these files and donate them to Notre Dame. I am willing to contribute.

I should have read it through before firing off a comment. Just made a pledge and hope all others do, too

I was on the ND Archives website today and saw a twitter feed from NDA that suggested they are looking into it as well.
