Having just sold a car rental franchise, some suggestions to save $$$
Go off airport to rent to avoid airport fees
Use your Costco Membership if you have one for Avis or Budget
Check w/ your insurance company to see if you are covered for collision and liability
Check w/ your credit card. If you use certain cards, they will cover what your insurance company doesn't for collision damage (usually your deductible). My blue Chase Visa covers collision from the first dollar.

Many tax increases are justified by A) Our citizens won't pay, gee isn't this fun and B) Other cities have done this so it's just a quid pro quo

Well now citizens like you are getting smart. Also Turo and similar companies are undermining the airport fees.

Don't do it.

Take the blue line into the city a little bit and find a rental station nearby. The airport concession fee is outrageous.
