Even at the end of his career when he was with the White Sox, and he didn't have his best stuff anymore, he got by on smarts.

Textbook throwing motion, too, especially how he "pitched with his legs", which is why he never had arm trouble.

He was one of those guys who you wondered how he could not have been a unanimous HOF selection.
