From what I understand, the ones sold at "budget" retailers might use components (especially the actually LED panels) that aren't as good.


This is definitely the case for plumbing fixtures....

....sold at HD or Lowe's vs. a real plumbing supply company. Fixtures that look identical outside but get plastic internals instead of brass...etc...

It's always fun to explain to clients why the fixture we spec'd and put in the schedule at $300 appears to be on sale at Home Depot for $150.
