Kendall Rogers posted about the search last night. Said Scott Jackson removed his name. He indicated their are two candidates right now, but need D1Baseball premium account to see the full story. Anyone care to share who he thinks are the two top candidates?
"According to @KendallRogers, leading contenders for the vacant Notre Dame baseball job are Illinois State's Steve Holm. UNC Greensboro’s Link Jarrett and Michigan assistant Nick Schnabel."
I am not blown away by any of the names mentioned. My negativity has been born out of Jack's history of hiring and his complete mismanagement or incompetent oversight of the Notre Dame baseball program. Even worse, Jack has appeared to not give one damn about the success of the Notre Dame baseball program.
so he does deserve some credit for assembling the roster that made it to the last game of the CWS. I don't know how good of a head coach he would be, but he was a college teammate of their head coach Bakich and has coached with him for years. I suspect that he would recruit well and at least coach the fundamentals soundly.
For that matter, ND is be more southern than Michigan.
That would be a really really really good hire.
