Previously she was a volunteer assistant and coached the pitchers. I sincerely hope Gumpf has finally recognized the development of pitchers has been substandard during her long tenure and she will hire someone competent to coach the pitchers.

EDIT: I purposely used the word reassigned in hope. The Notre Dame announcement indicates she was hired as Softball Operations Specialist from her previous position as a volunteer assistant. Again. hopefully this is spinning her hiring as a positive rather than a demotion.
