just prior to the 1973 Sugar Bowl. I was in my band uniform, but politely told her we may go to hell, but we will beat 'Bama before that.

Many of the Bama fans dumped beer (or something yellow) on us as we marched before the game in the French Quarter.

Pitt fans in '73 tried to steal hats and plumes as we were leaving Pitt's stadium. Several got the end of the drum mallet I was wielding.
