In our local paper's obituary on Bud Grant, the following item appeared. I wonder if he might be one of the last players alive from that game.

After high school, Grant enlisted in the Navy and played on the Great Lakes football team coached by Paul Brown that beat nationally ranked Notre Dame.

Side note: Bud Grant was a stud.

- In 2019. he was named one of the 10 greatest high-school athletes in Wisconsin state history by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
- He won nine letters in three sports at Minnesota.
- He won an NBA title with the Lakers.
- He played two years in the NFL and in his last and final season, he had 56 passes for 997 yard and 7 TDs.
- He is in the Pro Football HOF *and* the Canadian Football HOF (he won four titles coaching Winnipeg).

The guy was amazing.

His son Mike is a good guy and a great coach in his own righ *
