Brian Kelly.
It is not hard to figure out why elite talent(for the most part) is averse to committing to/signing with ND.
Most(5 stars/high 4 stars) are not interested in playing for him--and the few who do have reservations about his perceived longevity.
It is easy pickings for other top schools to negatively recruit ND based on their situation at Head Coach.
He’s a scooch from a 5 Star. 6.0 guy
At least not on 247.
He is #220 overall on 247.
There are over 175 other 4 stars rated higher.
But my post wasn't really in specific reference to Pyne.
It relates to ND's overall recruiting effort--in which you referenced with a link to Mike Frank's podcast talking about recruiting 'issues'.
ND will sign some good OL--they always do. But right now ND is struggling to land their top targets. I see they just lost their top RB target to Clemson---a FLorida kid all the ND insiders stated we led for in a big way.
Not good.
than any current QB we have. His offer list should tell the rest of the story. Getting those offers as a sophomore is rare...

once again, to the recruitnik, every recruit is a must sign until he gets on campus and then the guys we're not recruiting are so much better.
Not to put pressure on a 16-year-old kid, but obviously if you're going to have a commitment from a 2020 guy of that caliber, thereby hurting your chances with 2019 kids, that kind of needs to hold. Being Barnetted sucks.
