It's one thing to bet on the outcome of a game. It's another thing to bet on discretionary decisions that people make. It's even worse with professional athletes an agents. Because we know that stuff is totally clean.


Do gamblers actually bet on this kind of stuff?

I don't know much about Vegas but I guess I thought these kinds of odds were just put out for fun or to get an oddsmaker or casino some free publicity. Can you actually place a bet on these odds at a casino? If so, what's to stop an athlete from making his transfer decision, withhold announcing it and then having a family member go to Vegas and place a huge bet? I don't think there are any insider trading rules that apply.


Frankly, he'd be stupid not to in that situation. *
