already shaky economy for Canton, Ohio. The HOF weekend events (parade, concert, enshrinement ceremony, and game) bring in a lot of people and are a big revenue source.
Regarding plans to have fans watch the games on big screens in parking lots - how does this protect fans? Is the concept to do this drive-in movie, stay in your cars style? Or, is the plan to reduce in-stadium seating to some percentage of the stadium capacity and then allow those that can't get in to watch in a socially distanced manner? Good luck in enforcing that.
This doesn't make sense to me.
but in theory it could work if it was like a drive in or if they could put up "stalls" that enforced social distancing (have to rope off areas, I assume). If they mic'd up the lot, it could actually get some type of "home field advantage" for noise.
These are only guesses based on what I've heard. I know that they are exploring a variety of ways to still make money during this time. If they can't have people in the stands, they'll try and find the next best thing, you can bet on it.
