That was my fear from his sophomore highlights.

Skilled but raw. Problematic delivery that needs to be cleaned up to be a reliable thrower. Likely won’t get the coaching he needs. That said, some reports were that he has simplified his delivery. I was curious about his performance based on my concerns. He looks a little better on shorter routes. But it’s hard to take too much stock in padless camp throwing.

It's also worth noting that he has been evaluated as being better than Jurkovec by third parties who aren't ND fan boys from Western Pennsylvania. So that's also a positive sign.

His delivery hitch

is not nearly as pronounced as Jurkovec's was. Hopefully by the time he gets to ND it will be even less.

The film at the E11 I watched showed many of his throws coming out high and often missing the target. He really didn't rip it on those throws.
Those types of quick outs will be the majority of the throws he will be expected to make in Kelly's Offense. His arm strength looked decent.

Many people were reading and buying into the fluff with Buchner. Some saying he could start as a Freshman. I don't see that happening. I think the speed of the game at this level will be an eye opener to him. But a year under Balis and some solid work on the scout team will really help him get ready to compete.
