why didn't he go to the NFL then? or now?

I'm guessing NFL GMs are running in the opposite direction as fast as possible.

That is why there is a transfer portal, sometimes things do not work out the way you plan. Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield all came from the transfer portal. I stated on this board a month ago that Jurkovec was going to hit the transfer portal and I came close to saying he was coming back to ND. He probably said too much since then to make it possible, but he would have been the perfect 1 year stopgap.
