Had four goals over the weekend - three on a hat trick - against Miami and is up to 21 for the season.

Sounds like a lot of schools may have brushed him off & assumed he was following his brothers to ND.

Ian Cole's dad told me that was the attitude Berenson and Michigan had with Ian. Just assumed since he grew up in Ann Arbor, went to Yost as a kid, and played his junior hockey there, it was a foregone conclusion someone who was skilled enough to be a 1st round draft pick would play his college hockey at UM. We saw how that worked out.

Maybe Ben Steeves wasn't going to find a place here under any circumstances and I have no idea if the program did try to recruit him or not. But hopefully they didn't just assume anything.
