Down 3-0 after 2. Gave up a goal at 4.9 seconds left

The differences between the 2 offenses is striking. Sparty

plays more wide open on offense and more aggressive on D while our overly-structured offense was just putrid tonight resembling the second game in East Lansing a few months ago. Played well enough the first period but then just sucked in period 2 (like we always do). Missed a few wide-open nets and giving up that wrap-around goal was inexcusable. Is it just me, or is the majority of our defense slower than hell?

This isn't the slowest Irish team under Jackson,

but it's probably close. At the end of the day we're just not talented enough to compete consistently with teams that do have enough talent. We're middle of the pack, and the team still plays like it is 2005. The game is different in 2024 but we're not.

Our chances of making the NCAAs are probably pretty much gone, short of winning the Big Ten tournament. I don't know if this is a spoiler or not, but we're not going to win the Big Ten tournament.

I'm ready to say it now. If Sheahan is expected to be the heir apparent behind the bench, I can't see any reason for waiting for it to be official. It's time for a change and this program needs to move into its next era.
