Guard Kate Martin averaging 4pts/game, career 25% 3 point shooter, goes for 20, 6-6 from deep.

So, if Martin had shot her average, Iowa loses by

about 20 instead of 7.

My impression of UCONN wbb is that they are darn good.

That's the way I see it. Iowa can't play much better.

Huskies put a muzzle on Iowa's big Monika Czinano, she got 8 averages 19. UCONN has three sharpshooters Fudd, Lopez & Ducharme. If there inside game holds up against S. Caro. and
Stanford they will be right there. Top 4 team IMHO, as much as I hate to admit it.

Edwards is underrated.

I think she’ll hold her own against South Carolina and Stanford.

How About She's Improving Year-To-Year?

Which is a pretty good thing to see. She's had some good -- and not so good --- moments against both teams, but she's getting better, year by year.
Without Dorka Juhasz, she is the UConn front court. Aubrey Griffin is coming back well from an injury last year.

Nika Muhl is playing really well for UConn, too, at the PG position. She's tough on defense and is distributing first and foremost, to all concerned.

I have an old man's crush on Nika *

NC is small & neither impressing in a 7-7 start

UNC isn't holding up the strength of the ACC so far *

They're Shooting, What, 20%? But They're Down 13?

UNC could get some runs going, but Stephanie Soares (Brazil via NAIA) is hurting UNC, with 12 points. Joens can score one-on-one against just about anyone.

Both teams playing a lot of 1 on 1

ISU has some players who can score on their own
NC is struggling without ball movement

I take it back UNC roared back in 2 nd half to win 73-64

That 20% shooting mentioned earlier was up to 40% by the end ISU stayed at 34%.

This does have the advantage of showing how #5 Iowa State isn't that high.

Well done Heels!

They just kept hoisting them up early in the shot clock and UNC said "thanks very much for the opportunity."

Good point. *
