Some 2019 Recruiting Bits & Pieces

- Haley Jones took a trip to UCLA (note the link to her twitter). Note
she called it an "unofficial," even though she is now in position to take an official visit (OV) to up to five schools. Perhaps saving those for longer trips east? And/or for a "final five" tour this fall? Jones is set to visit ND in September.

- Aliyah Boston did not visit UConn and has allegedly pushed that visit back to September, the same time she is set to visit ND.

In related news, Jordon Horston (the lightning fast guard who is on the u17 National Team with Sam Brunelle, Haley Jones and others), had transportation issues getting from Columbus, Ohio (her hometown) to Storrs, CT., in early June and subsequently decided to reschedule, citing a packed summer schedule (with the U17 tourney and AAU events).

Looks like early fall semester will be a very busy time for some of the remaining top 2019 prospects, that's for sure. Stay tuned.

Jakia Brown-Turner has committed to NC State. She looked

good in that D.C. all-star game with Paige and Azzi. I thought that she would have been a good back-up to Haley Jones at the guard/forward wing position that Jackie Young plays. NC State will continue to be a dangerous team in ACC play.

If Aliyah Boston is visiting Storrs in September,

I take that as a good chance for ND to go head to head for September visitors to both campuses. An ND football weekend is a more exciting visit. The new facility and the championship buzz should prove helpful as well. And we can assume that Sam Brunelle will be at ND that weekend for her official visitTop recruits often visit and commit after an October visit to Storrs timed with their version of midnight madness.

Jones will narrow it to Stanford, ND, and UConn IMO.

She definitely wants a California option with strong academics. A lot depends on if Jones qualifies to get in to Stanford. She is obviously super smart but it always seems to take Stanford Admissions awhile to say yes or no.

Stanford is a major player here.

If she really wants to stay in California UCLA is an option too.

Especially Since Ms. Jones Was Just Accepted Into Stanford

...according to this tweet from Stanford followers (attached).

So, she's got the goods academically to go to Stanford (which is also very local for her), so getting into Cal, UCLA and ND shouldn't be an issue, either.

She's got a lot of options, which will make that September time period very interesting. Stay tuned.
