“Apparently, the ACC has changed its rules on intraconference transfers starting with the 2019-20 season, so the players transferring from Georgia Tech to Louisville won't lose a season of eligibility.”
...would work out for Louisville.
But I should've known better that he'd be on top of this. And given the unsettled nature of Georgia Tech and it's coaching situation, both of these young women can be suiting up for the Cardinals next year.
So, let's hope there is some kind of mutual interest with Sydney Cooks and that the courtship of Natalija Marshall went well. The "arms race" continues. Stay tuned.
Apparently no loss of a year of eligibility transferring in conference.
At least Walz is out of roster spots (or so you'd think!)
..will get to share the two forward positions with Elizabeth Dixon for a year. Frosh Ramani Parker will have a challenge hitting that rotation.
It's the guards on the roster who might feel slighted. Balogun and Smith will undoubtedly take possible PT from any of the players that he recruited, primarily from Kentucky.
Seems like Walz used this transfer crop to make up for the less than usual frosh recruiting he's had this year (and perhaps last). In this sense, we've done well, with many of our returning players being McDonald All-Americans, which is something Walz knew: remember, he coached Anaya last summer and would've also done the same for Abby and Jordan if they had not chosen to go to Rome and Croatia with the Irish.
