Maybe in practice & in a game you earn PT

she seemed to be in the wrong place more often then not, contrast that with Abbie or even Mik.

I think That May Be One of the Problems

I think the decisions were made before games started. They had her playing
a couple different positions and one she was not familiar with. She was
never a 3.

...Once the season starts practice minutes are limited by the NCAA. So
coaches are more concerned with preparing for the next game. Being a
back up her time with the first unit very limited.

...Not the coaches fault and not the players. Blame it on Davie if you
want. But there are a lot of stupid rules out there that are not in the
best interest of the player, team or game.

...If it were up to me. I would fire the NCAA.

... I am not convinced this new rule on transfer is in the best interest
of the player or the game.I think the NCAA just opened up Pendoras Box.
This could hurt Dani more than it helps her. That is my big concern.
We do not know what is going through her head and what was the straw that
broke the camels back. But when it does come up. You have to take a
couple steps back and analysis what is happening, what the problem is,
and how to resolve it. Coaches and friends should also have been
involved.

...Just my unprofessional opinion. Bottom Line it is bad situation
for both Dani and the team.

I agree - I never said "why is she not playing more?"

More often than not, she seemed out of place, confused and tentative. I'm sure she would have gotten more playing time if she would have given us a better chance to win.

This is my take, as well.

Her issues were not physical. She has always looked athletic. But she made far too many mistakes during her limited minutes. It seems odd that someone as bright and articulate as she continually had mental breakdowns.

Not only tentative

but I felt she did a poor job protecting the ball. She seemed to struggle as the outlet person whenever other teams would press. She frequently gave up the ball/had it stripped when pressured.

I know she was highly ranked/recruited but she never seemed to seize the opportunities she had, especially as a freshman when all the injuries arose. I can't imagine her playing ahead of Sam or even Abby (regardless of position, I think Abby would do a better job on defense/outside shooting and passing).

You May Want Rewind Your Tape for the mistakes

you keep talking about she got a lot of playing time. The most turnovers in
one game was 2. That was not often. Now Mik did show alot of bad hands and
outlet passes. You seem to reach out and justify her departure. You have
to play more than 5 minutes a game to account for all the problems she
made.

...Abby was not a home run hitter. She committed way to many turnovers
and fouls. Constantly off balance.

...If you are going to attack players and mention their mistakes. Do it
all of them or none. Just because she decided to look at other schools.
Does not justify the bashing she takes.

...Did Dani cost ND the NC. Did she cost ND the 4 losses. No she did not.
She was not on the court long enough to make a decision. That was a
coaching decision.

...Based on your scientific data MM was wrong in rewarding her the
most improved player.

...True and loyal fans do not attack past, current, or future players.
So what does that make you.

True & Loyal players don't bail either

I don't think some of the comments constitute an attack on her. She is probably a very nice person but from my seat as a season ticket holder she never seized the opportunity when she was in the game to warrant more PT and I do not know what she did in practice as I'm not privy to that but I do not think the other poster was attacking her

My Mistake

I may not have made my point correctly. Your right and I agree with your
points.

...My problem is this. Ever since I was a young seaman in the Navy I have
bee a root cause type of person. To get somewhere you have to start
somewhere.

...I also take that into sports. My answer is timing. You are right. She
did not always seem to be at the right place at the right time. But what
would cause that. My response would be timing and opportunity. Not to
pick on Abby buy with her MM just said attack and find ball. She had a
simple game plan. Dani on the other hand was playing and learning 2
different positions at the same time.

...There is no one to blame but the system. Dani just needed more playing
time to feel comfortable what she was doing. There are times you did
see that spark. But because of confidence in not playing regularly. They
were just steps. As fans we are looking at the big picture not the
small picture. Again, nothing wrong with that either. Dani just got
caught up in the system.

...This is the part I totally agree with everyone. The time was there
for her to seize the opportunity. She has the athletic ability and
skill and now opportunity to show everyone what she was recruited to do.
But time and emotions may have gotten in the way. Until she signs on
the doted line with another school. She in my eyes is still Irish.
I will go to my wifes grotto every day and hope she decides, maybe
being Irish is my best option.

...I apologize that I was not clear in my meaning earlier. My bust and
I take responsibility for my errors. I have a bad happen in the little
guy or underdog. Just my makeup and what I learned in my years in the
service.

...One of these days I will learn to make a shorter post. My doc once
told me after I was in lah lah land for 3 days. I would have a runny
mouth. She did not mention it would also affect my fingers. I have not
shut up since. I am trying very very very very very hard in making
my post more readable. Who wants to read a novel on the internet. I
wonder if I can get a Pulitzer for my long posts. Thanks for your
understanding.

No offense but shorter posts are a good idea

If I want to read a novel I can use my Kindle.

Just do not get the post police involved. Ruin my record. Thanks for your
patience to all that dealt with my lengthy posts. I got carried away with
my thought process.

Coaches, players, and friends should have seen there was a problem. I
saw it from the T.V. and so did someone else on this board. She was
constantly looking over at the bench to see if the coaches were yanking
her or upset with her. That is no way to play. Her mind could not have
been on what she was suppost to do. She was concerned about the little
playing time she was getting.
