Very common in AAU circles. An intensely competitive mindset. In a lot of cases, the parents drive the turnover -- and I would guess many are involved in the recent NCAA WBB shift. The goal is to play well enough so you get noticed by one of the premier programs. Keep climbing until you are on one of the best teams and you get noticed by the top programs. Many of the parents are ex-college athletes, know how the system "works", and do what is in their child's best interest.

Tough for old school fuddy duddies like me but that is the new school approach. Don't think it will change.
