I don’t see how her departure isn’t a crushing blow to recruiting and guard development.

for the short term and is just as likely as Niele to work well with Clark and Westbeld. Muffet has known for a week or two that this move was in the works and will hire a good replacement. I would like to see someone from outside the ND orbit hired to add some fresh perspective and energy to the staff, especially as ND begins a new era following the championship and a near miss at the repeat.

Women’s Basketball.

Beth is a terrific athlete, woman, and coach. She was a Freshman in Howard when I was a Senior and we all knew she was special.

She ain’t Niele. Nobody is.

Please come back to us, Niele. Her as head coach, Sky as guards coach. Boom.

I believe that Niele will return as head coach, unless her

NBA career takes some unforeseen turns. At least Niele will not be recruiting and coaching against ND...

And remember that Muffet devotes a good deal of her coaching to the point guards.

I certainly agree with you that Niele has earned this job and any that she
wants.

...To me this is the most important hire that MM has made. She has to hire
a coach that is knowledgeable, respected, can teach and she trusts. The new
coach will have a very short time to get the guards ready. Plus the new coach
may have to close the deal on Clark and any other 2020 guard ND wants to
bring aboard. Then she has to one way or the other let perspective future
guards know her and also just flat out recruit.

...MM has little time to make a decision. However, we all know she has a
already formulated. She just got to get that list and start working it
and bring in the best candidate. As mentioned below, I would think
C. Washington would be on that list. I would think Cable and few assistss
with ND ties coaching in the south would also be on that list. I think
C.Washingtons resume is everything MM wants in her next coach.
