Both could've been red, the latter is compulsory, as I understand it.

But the only way he could miss the choke is if he was already going to the book for jumping on Altidore. And even if he missed the choke, shouldn't one of the assistants have seen it.

A real problem with having only two comprehensive top-to-bottom federations is that in matches between the two powers of the confederation there is a paucity of options for competent officials.
