It's like Notre Dame playing Alabama or Clemson, and then spotting them a fumble. That second goal was a fumble ... catch the ball. ETA: first goal was a gift, too, when the Russian defender misplayed the ball.

I think Belgium is better at every position.

the Russians’ “endurance” advantage in extra time against Croatia.

I’m also surprised that the commentator today made a joke about the Russian coach either having a long stay in Siberia or tea at the Kremlin. That seems like a crack one would make during a remote broadcast. At least that’s what I assume. Otherwise ABC/ESPN would be wise to fly in another announcer just in case of an unfortunate accident.
