They all called out extremely bad judgment. As they should. They don’t owe her any obligation to treat her gently. She did something really stupid. They are closer to the situation than either of us. They are clearly extremely frustrated w her.

The idea that there are two sides to this is insane. No context is required. Rapinoe being an atheist or outspoken in her politics is wholly irrelevant.

At no point did I say Albert should be “emblazoned w a scarlet letter forevermore.” I believe in forgiveness and growth.

But if people leading the USWNT wanted to expel her from the pool because her inclusion spoils the chemistry, it wouldn’t be a stretch, that’s how bad a choice rooting for a teammate’s ruptured Achilles is.
