One of the many awesome things about ND's win was watching Rick Pitino's antics after the game kept going into multiple OTs. I believe he threw a highlighter at one point.

It should be noted that this would be the last time UL would lose before *winning* the 2013 NC.

Haha, and the contrast to Brey made it even better!

Meltdown was about the best word I could think of, and seeing The Loosest Coach in America just enjoying the game only made it better. Add in the sartorial contrast - another classic was Pitino in a Gordon Gekko suit facing off with Huggins (easily on my shortlist of coaches I'd love to grab a beer with though) in sweats - and the end result only made it better, although they did get us back in the BE Tourney.

That's a great point on us being the last one to beat the eventual champ, and as Ajax mentioned, the same occurred for both Kemba Walker and Duke. The 2014-15 team that beat Duke is one of my favorite all time ND teams, and it drives me nuts that they ran into another excellent team in UK when both (along with Wisconsin and Arizona?) would likely have won the whole thing in +/- 3 years before and after, but just had the bad luck to be very good teams in a very deep year.

Just make sure Huggins doesn't leave with his keys. *
