Buy a Brick for Zimbabwe

When you read about the charitable endeavors taken up by ND players and their families, purchasing bricks to help the poor in Africa may not jump out at you. But it’s a cause near and dear to Irish QB Riley Leonard and his family.

The foundation, created by Leonard’s grandfather over 20 years ago, helps to improve the infrastructure in the most impoverished areas of Zimbabwe. It has helped people get better access to food, water, education, and more. Leonard has put together a brief video describing the effort and what it means to his family.

As we enter the holiday season and our thoughts turn to giving, please consider supporting the Leonard family in their efforts to fight poverty. More details about the foundation and the link to contribute can be found here at the foundation’s website.

  1. JOSEPH KRETSCHMER says:

The Society of St. Pius X has missions in Nigeria where the priests are glad to see the military on the roads because it means they might not get kidnapped for ransom by the rebels. They continue to grow but can use help. They bring the traditional Catholic life to the people there who are very grateful. They have schools which have been very beneficial to the people. One of the priests there is Fr. Peter Scott who was a medical doctor in Australia. Actually he told me he had tried every ideology including Communism but found out about the traditional Catholic priesthood from a friend who was a priest.
