Give Terry Brennan a Smile

The COVID-19 outbreak has us all in unfamiliar situations, isolated from each other and left to our own devices to keep our spirits up. Some of us are more able than others to react in these situations, and a former ND player and coach could use your help on that score.

Terry Brennan, a member of Frank Leahy’s post-war National Championship squads and his successor as Fighting Irish head coach, now resides in a senior living center in Wilmette, IL. Like many seniors, Terry’s grasp of technology leaves something to be desired, so with centers like him on true lock-down, he’s not as able to keep in touch with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as much as either side would like. The resulting isolation has left him rather down.

Terry’s granddaughter, Colleen Brennan, contacted us here at NDN in the hopes ND fans would be willing to make Terry’s days a little more enjoyable by sending some cards and letters his way. A lot of us are finding time on our hands as we endure stay-at-home orders, including those of you whose children may be itching for artistic outlets, so we’re hoping you can put that time to good use here and do your good deed for the day.

You can address the cards and letters to:

2801 Old Glenview Road
Unit 347
Wilmette, IL 60091

Take a few minutes to brighten the day of a fellow Notre Dame man. You’ll be glad you did.

  1. For anyone who doesn’t have stamps on hand or is hesitant to hit the post office (or has terrible handwriting!), there are postcard services that will send a postcard on your behalf with custom images and everything.

I uploaded one of my favorite pictures that I took of campus. More than worth it for a great man and a fellow domer.
