A real good guy. I'm happy for them.

I was a sophomore there for their last trip to the Big Dance

I could certainly do without the many reminders of how long ago that was, and therefore, how old I am.

Norm Nixon was a force that last tourny team.

Norm Nixon. That’s a blast from the past. What a great

He’s rarely mentioned when the teams & players of 80s are discussed
I think a lot of fans think the Lakers didn’t win until they traded Nixon but they won twice with him IIRC

I remember him as a heckuva player. *

Garry practiced law in Pittsburgh for years

Used to run into him in criminal court back in the early 1990's when I worked in the DA's office. Great guy.

my family tree has 6 Duquesne grads including my wife and one of our sons.

After years of being widely recognized as the worst coaching job in the A10, Keith Dambrot, the son of a DU basketball player from the 50s, took on the job that had resulted in the last 7 coaches being fired. He said he took the job because he was tired of his Dad complaining about how bad Duquesne had become.

Duquesne plays tough D with a deep bench. Their offense is a bit helter skelter, so they can be very streaky. Their roster has 8 seniors, grad students, or grad transfers, so this was probably the best shot they are going to have for a while.

With ND in the infancy of rebuild, it's been fun to have another team to follow.

I haven't followed them for a long time for the reasons you
