The run game has an alarming % of carries for loss/no gain

I don't have the exact percentage-but heard it discussed on an ND podcast and the numbers were not good at all.

Dexter Williams and his ability to hit the home run masked what has been typical of the Kelly era. The running game after 9 years is still not very good and way too many run plays go for little or nothing(or less).

I think the design and scheme contribute more to that than the personnel, or even the OL coaching. As long as Kelly is coaching, I have resigned myself to the fact the run game for ND will never really be a strength when it counts.

Nearly a quarter of non-sack run plays

Were stuffed for no gain or loss yards, per the guy on Mike Franks podcast. Just not acceptable

ND was one of the worst in the country last year of running

plays of zero or negative yards.

Our ypc numbers were skewed by Dexter's long runs.

to Dexter Williams' lack of consistency as a big culprit for those zero yard gains and I thought he was the only thing that kept our running game from being a complete shit show; especially once Jafar Armstrong got hurt last year.

I have no reason to believe our run game will be anything more than it has been for the past 9 years. It will never be a featured part of the offense even when we play teams where our size, strength, and talent advantages would call for that strategy.

..correct... and therein lies the problem.

Kelly just doesn't seem to grasp the importance of the run game at the Div One level. Offensively, he's still at GVS.
