of a minor injury. He added that they had expected Cale to turn pro and now find themselves with four goalies, including junior Nick Sanford. He is thinking of having Dylan St. Cyr take a red-shirt year while Bischel gains some experience as the back-up. The hope is that Bischel can hold the fort until Morris returns in a week or two.
course I bet the house on Brad Phillips and now live in a trailer!
because it was an "exhibition game", Jackson wanted to get a look at his freshman (Bischel) . . . who was in goal all three periods.
Both those goals went into east end goal (opposite student section). This goal would be the closest to Ann Arbor ..... obviously Michigan sucks
His second goal seemed to be more of a huge defensive breakdown. AFA got too many open passes in front, and one found its way home.
holy hell. It’s the first game of his career. Let’s screw him up and yank him. He’s been pretty solid since
you know why he’s not in goal?
Bischel definitely got his legs under him after Air Force’s 2d goal. And maybe not having the
Richter Award Winner in goal lit a fire under the offense.
in an era when shots are being taken from what used to be "bad angles" and the emphasis is on post-integration/lateral movement, that's an advantage. He's not massive by any stretch but he is similar to Morris. St. Cyr is small.
Won face off, found space, and bullseye
I bet Jackson had some words about that.
Absent the empty-netter, guys, you were going into OT. Let’s not do that again.
played in that goal. If you're going to be there don't let the kid get a shot off.
Less than 5 seconds? Take a penalty before allowing the shot.
I couldn't even tell if it made contact with him on the way up and in.
And every goal in the first minute or the last minute of a period always draws a coach's ire. Several good lessons. Don't ice it like you did, play to the horn, etc., etc.
